Prosthodonics is the dental specialty responsible for the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of health of patients with complex or dental and maxillofacial clinical conditions using bio compatible substitutes, including implants, to replace mission or deficient teeth and/ or craniofacial tissues.
The Department of Prosthodonitics is one of the only department which is involved in teaching all the 5 years of undergraduate students. The undergraduate course entails detailed theoretical, laboratory and clinical applications of the art and science of prosthodonitics and craniofacial prosthetics.
Apart from educating the students, the department provides care for patients who require comprehensive and advanced phases or Prasthondontics treatment. We strive the achieve excellence in treating the patient as a whole by prosthondontics means and also train the students to make them future leaders in Prosthondontics.
The Department is located in the ground floor of the building with under graduate clinics, computers room, faculty and under graduate student’s room, seminar room, polymer lab, gypsum lab, preclinical lab and department stores. The department is well equipped with 52 dental chairs and state of art equipment’s. The department has induction casing machines, ceramic furnaces, vacuum mixers, steam cleaners, duplicating machine, composite curing unit, Soldering machine, moulding machine, Milling machines, acrylizer and high speed lathes with suction.
