About Department : Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics

Normal alignment of teeth not only contributes to the oral health but also goes a long way in the overall well-being and personality of an individual. Correct tooth position is an important factor for esthetics, function and for overall preservation or restoration of dental health.

Orthodontic is a specialized branch of dentistry which deals with malaligned, forward placed teeth as well as it also correct the abnormities like short or long facial bones. It also interrupt & correct the habits like tongue thrusting, thumb sucking and lip bitting, which leads to malocclusion it is not corrected within a time.

The correct age of correction of teeth will be after eruption of front permanent teeth that is 11-12 years of age. For correction of bone structure the proper age will be 9-10 years.

Those specialized trained person who deals with this problem called Orthdontist.
